A propos du film :

Célèbre reporter d'une chaîne télévisée, Clara Engel se rend en montagne avec Mark, son photographe de mari qui a besoin de clichés pris en pleine nature, et sa soeur Rachel. Se déroulant au bord d'un précipice, la séance de pose tourne soudain au cauchemar lorsque, par forfanterie, Rachel se penche au-dessus du vide sur une balustrade instable, qui cède sous son poids. N'ayant pu sauver sa soeur d'une chute mortelle, Clara reste traumatisée par cet événement et développe une phobie des hauteurs, assortie d'hallucinations où Rachel apparaît comme un fantôme hargneux et culpabilisant. Des troubles qui mettent en péril aussi bien son travail que sa vie de couple, et qui la poussent à intégrer le petit groupe de patients du chercheur Paul Sadowski, un thérapeute aux méthodes plutôt radicales…
