À l'aube de la quarantaine, Alexandre Tellier, banquier au chômage, apprend que son père, qu'il n'a pas connu, est mort et qu'il hérite de sa ferme porcine. Pour Alexandre, vendre la ferme est une occasion inespérée de se remettre à flot. Mais il lui faut d'abord trouver le moyen de mener Big Jim, un cochon de concours dépressif, jusqu'au trophée ultime, pour recevoir cet héritage. L'homme d'affaires, qui n'y connaît absolument rien dans les soins à accorder aux animaux, commence à se demander s'il parviendra à relever ce défi. Courageux et volontaire, il enfile le costume adéquat et commence une nouvelle vie. Tout est rude dans son quotidien, mais peu à peu, Alexandre commence à apprécier son nouveau compagnon à quatre pattes...
